Biography

Tom began trying insurance defense cases almost immediately upon graduation from law school. He quickly developed a reputation as a trial lawyer, trying all types of cases ranging from automobile accidents, slip-and-falls, arsons, construction claims, and products liability. Tom's reputation for relating to jurors encouraged other attorneys to refer clients with personal injury claims to him. Tom has successfully represented clients on both sides of the courtroom and sincerely believes that trying cases from both perspectives allows him to more thoroughly and objectively guide his clients through litigation. Tom's experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants, combined with his reputation for reasonableness, has lead to a successful practice as a mediator.

Tom received an "AV" rating from Martindale-Hubbell at a relatively young age and continues to hold this highest designation. He has also been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America publication and was nominated as the 2020 President of the Kentucky Bar Association. He has served as a Special Justice to the Kentucky Supreme Court and was fortunate to write the opinion. Tom has remained an active alumnus for the University of Kentucky College of Law. He still serves as a Director for the College of Law Alumni Board and served as President to the Alumni Association for three years, from 1997-2000. Tom has been active in the Bowling Green community by serving on various boards, including Crimestoppers, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), Rotary and Leadership Bowling Green Alumni Association. Additionally, he was honored with serving as the 2020 President of the Kentucky Bar Association.
