  • May 22, 2018

Kerrick Bachert Attorneys Matt Cook and Kyle Bumgarner attended the 75th Sixth Circuit Judicial Conference in Nashville, Tennessee on May 16-18, 2018. The conference is a biannual gathering of all federal judges in the Sixth Circuit states (Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, and Michigan). Attorneys admitted to practice in the Sixth Circuit may also attend the conference to obtain continuing legal education and to network with members of the federal bench and bar. Matt Cook is a Life Member of the Sixth Circuit Judicial Conference and this was the sixth Sixth Circuit Conference he has attended. Kyle Bumgarner attended his first conference as the invited Delegate of U.S. District Court Judge Greg Stivers of the Western District of Kentucky. Speakers at the conference included author and presidential historian Jon Meacham and noted Supreme Court expert, Dean Erwin Chemerinsky of the University of California at Berkeley.

Dean Chemerinsky’s paper on the 2017 U.S. Supreme Court term is attached as is a copy of a conference presentation handout on “Essentials for Federal Civil Practice.”
